Overview

An established consultancy with a UK presence across education, commercial, sports facilities, large-scale residential and healthcare sectors. They are seeking an intermediate to senior Building Services Electrical Design Engineer to join their Glasgow office. Candidates should have experience on similar projects and working in the UK/Ireland. The business invests in new technologies and focuses on career learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Understand project briefs and design and specify all Electrical Building Services systems (power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection, etc.).
• Design and specification of Electrical Building Services systems and perform detailed calculations using industry-standard tools (e.g., Excel, Dialux, Trimble, in-house tools).
• Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
• Carry out site surveys, inspections and monitor site works; produce reports and technical notes; maintain records to company standards.
• Adhere to quality, environmental and governance processes.

Qualifications / Experience

• Degree qualified (Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering) or equivalent.
• Postgraduate experience in a similar consultancy or relevant business.
• Full UK driving licence preferred to enable site travel.
• Experience with AutoCAD; Revit is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Dialux, Trimble.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design and applicable standards.
