Overview

This role is in our EMC Project Team who support MBDA programmes throughout their product lifecycles from concept through to disposal. The EMC Project Team supports projects to ensure the correct requirements are implemented, designs are robust and the strategy is accurate. The role involves writing Environmental Requirement Specifications (ERS's) and subsequent documentation including EMC Control Plans, Proving Plans, Proving Requirements and Proving Instructions in support of product development and qualification, and may include a hands-on review of the hardware and some informal testing.

Responsibilities

  • Write Environmental Requirement Specifications (ERSs) and related documentation for EMC control and proving activities (Control Plans, Proving Plans, Proving Requirements and Proving Instructions) to support product development and qualification.
  • Review hardware to ensure EMC requirements are met; may include hands-on review and informal testing.
  • Progress and deliver risk reduction and qualification strategies to bring products into service.
  • Ensure projects implement the correct requirements and that designs are robust and aligned with the strategy.

Qualifications

  • Higher education or experience within subject fields: Electronics, Electrical, Physics, EMC or similar.
  • An understanding of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and design principles.
  • Ability to work to defined deadlines and within budget limits.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional manner and adaptability when project needs are evolving.
  • Desirable: Knowledge in the application of military EMC standards to system, sub-system or equipment level (e.g. Defence Standard 59-41 / 59-411, AECTP500, Mil-Std-461, RTCA DO160 / EUROCAE ED-14).
  • Previous experience delivering support around electromagnetic compatibility.

Security and Other Requirements

  • Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. After offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
  • Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience.
  • Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 - 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
