Electronic Test Development Engineer\n\nJOB LOCATION: Stevenage\n\nSECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: SC (Can Start on BPSS) – Not UKEO\n\nDURATION: 6+ Months\n\nWORK PATTERN: Hybrid 50 / 50 (2/3 days onsite)\n\nPAY RATE: £40 - £50 Per Hour Pay To Umbrella Company (Inside IR35)\n\nEssential Skillset & Tools\n\nTest Equipment Development\n\nElectronic Design\n\nOverview of department:\n\nThe Test Equipment Hardware Design Capability group is a function home to the engineers working as part of the Test Equipment Centre of Excellence (TE CofEx), within Electronic Engineering (EE) Directorate. The EE Directorate is part of the wider Operations Directorate and forms part of Greater Engineering (Engineering, Operations and Programmes Directorate).\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nPrepare specifications & develop designs in line with all quality and technical standards.\n\nDevelop proposals for investigations & solutions, following investigation and analysis of technical issues.\n\nCarry out design appraisals to ensure all standards are maintained.\n\nDefine & specify test approaches; identifying any potential improvements to test/diagnostic processes.\n\nCarry out team planning, risk management and quality activities in collaboration with the Engineering Project Manager\n\nProduction of documentation to support the in-service use of products\n\nSupport the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids\n\nManage assigned budgets and lead, develop and motivate team members\n\nReport against work programmes\n\nMake Engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility\n\nEnsure team size & capability mix is optimised for successful delivery of work packages & projects\n\nSupport of less experienced team members\n\nKeep up to date in the relevant technical areas.\n\nSkillset/Experience Required:\n\nSkilled Hardware Design Engineers with proven experience to support the design, integration and validation of test system hardware solutions.\n\nKnowledge of test needs and techniques in support of product life cycle development.\n\nExperience of Design Proving and performance testing during development.\n\nExperience of Environmental and EMC testing during qualification.\n\nStrong document writing skills associated with Test Equipment hardware design needs.\n\nExperience of managing packages of work is highly desirable
