The Role
As part of our engineering team, you will:
* Design & Development: Create and optimise analogue and digital circuits, PCB layouts, and FPGA/ARM-based systems for portable ultrasonic inspection tools.
* Wireless Communication: Work with ESP32 and related protocols to deliver reliable data transfer and connectivity solutions.
* Testing & Compliance: Lead EMC/EMR testing, CE approvals, and ensure all electronic systems meet international standards.
* Fault-Finding & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving support for production and in-field teams.
* Innovation: Collaborate with R&D, mechanical, and software engineers to drive product innovation and continuous improvement.
* Supplier Collaboration: Prototype and validate new components, working with procurement and external partners to support future product strategies.
* Field Work: Support installation, commissioning, and technical issue resolution at customer sites (up to 25% travel).
* Documentation: Produce and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and change control records.
About You
* HND/Degree in Electronics (or equivalent).
* Good industry experience in electronics design (schematics, PCB layout, simulation) working towards or at Senior level
* Skilled in microprocessor systems (ARM/FPGA/PIC/Arduino/ATE).
* Strong background in amplifier/signal processing systems and test instrumentation.
* Proven ability to fault-find and repair complex electronic systems.
* Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) or inspection technologies would be beneficial.
