Overview

Electronics Design Engineer (Test) at Leonardo, with locations in GB - Newcastle and GB - Edinburgh. Contract type: Permanent. Hybrid working. Primary location: GB - Newcastle; Additional locations: GB - Edinburgh.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor to the creation and delivery of the technical solution within a defined work package area, ensuring that it meets all stakeholder requirements.
  • Establish and mature stakeholder needs, attribute priority, interest and influence, and trade off needs to determine the optimum capability to solve stakeholders’ problems.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment with other elements of the programme.
  • Apply appropriate tools and techniques for test equipment design by the team, providing advice in your area of expertise.
  • Resolve emerging issues by proposing and driving through solutions; escalate more complex risks and support definition of opportunities and risk mitigation options.
  • Develop, coach, mentor, teach, and upskill other engineers in the wider application of engineering.
  • Engage in the full design lifecycle and contribute to technical solution development within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Capture and analyse stakeholder needs to guide development of solutions for future operational environments.

What You Will Bring / Qualifications

  • Industry experience of operating as an Electronics Design Engineer at a Senior level.
  • Demonstrated experience of technical solution development within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in capturing and analysing stakeholder needs to guide development of solutions meeting future operational environments.
  • Experience in the full design lifecycle.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and adapt to changing demands.
  • Other related engineering capabilities and competencies as applicable to the role.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, which could include meeting eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
