Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer Hybrid | Up to £55,000
2–3 days on-site in Stevenage each week | Must be a British Citizen or Dual UK National

I’m hiring for a unique role in a standout EMC team that’s split between hands-on testing in a state-of-the-art facility and embedded project support across some of the most advanced defence programmes out there. This isn’t your standard EMC job; you’ll be involved across the whole product lifecycle, from early-stage concept through to final delivery, helping to shape and support the EMC strategy that keeps these systems performing exactly as they should.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Working directly with project teams to ensure EMC requirements are integrated from the start.
  2. Writing key documents like EMC Control Plans, Proving Plans, and Environmental Requirement Specs.
  3. Reviewing hardware and designs – sometimes hands-on, sometimes at your desk.
  4. Supporting testing and providing advice around EMC risks and mitigations.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Background in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or similar.
  2. Solid understanding of EMC and good design principles.
  3. Ability to manage your own time, work to deadlines, and adapt to project needs.
  4. Experience with military or aerospace EMC standards (Def Stan 59-411, Mil-Std-461, etc.) is a big plus.
  5. Must be a British Citizen (or dual UK national) and willing to undergo security clearance.
