EMEA Data Center Electrical Design Engineer at Eaton. Location: Greater London area, hybrid working solutions are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design and development of LV, MV, UPS, energy storage and other applicable Data Centre electrical systems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including D&B, engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure the successful implementation of electrical projects.
  • Conduct detailed technical analyses and provide recommendations for improving electrical systems and processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation in electrical design.
  • Continuously improve processes and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of electrical design and implementation.
  • Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with IEC, EU requirements and building codes.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
  • Assist in developing, managing and maintaining the Consultant’s & Client’s CPD Programme with regular, consistent engagement.
  • Drive innovation and push boundaries in Eaton’s Data Centres design offering by staying up-to-date with the latest research, industry trends and technologies.
  • This is an external facing role; the candidate will be representing Eaton as an Industry solutions expert and should develop trusted, influential relationships with Clients, Consultants, Partners and industry peers.
  • Contribute to and support marketing campaigns and activities that promote Eaton to Client relations and business.
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
  • Travel to sites for site reviews and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startups as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design and development.
  • Strong technical background in electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and automation.
  • Excellent understanding of European Electrical Codes with detailed understanding of critical LV and MV electrical equipment industry standards and regulations.
  • Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and driving innovation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient electrical design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive long-term innovation.
  • Advanced qualification in project management is a plus.
