OverviewIndependent End-Point Assessor - Systems Engineer (Level 7) – PearsonPearson is the world's leading learning company with 35,000 employees in more than 70 countries. The role involves independent end-point assessments for apprenticeships, ensuring consistency and independence from training providers, with the EPA outcomes recorded and quality assured by Pearson.Independent Employer Assessors will chair EPA panels, provide assessment, reviews and feedback, and ensure that apprentices achieve the required standard in accordance with the apprenticeship assessment plan and Pearson materials.Key AccountabilitiesTake part in regular training and standardisation activities, associated with the role of Independent Employer Assessor for this EPAMaintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD)Assess the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures, ensuring overall standards are maintainedAct as chair of the Synoptic EPA panelMake final judgement when all panel members are not in agreement (Independent Employer Assessor has veto power)Notify Pearson of the outcome of the assessment (when Pearson’s quality assurance representative is not present at the EPA)Follow protocols set out in Pearson’s specifications, assessment materials and quality assurance protocols relating to EPAsMaintain service-level agreements regarding EPA planning, operational activities, reports and submissions of assessment outcomesReport all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to Pearson, including any suspected malpractice/maladministrationEnsure all EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and recorded accuratelySupport Pearson, if necessary, with any appeals from apprentices, regarding assessment decisionsRaise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessmentEnsure that any personal actions are completed, as required by PearsonContribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson’s end-point assessment activitiesContribute to the external quality assurance activities undertaken by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)Qualifications and ExperienceBackground And Experience (essential)Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirementsEvidence of commitment to maintaining CPD, in line with new apprenticeship requirements and the EPA specialismWilling to travel to employer locations for face-to-face practical assessmentsMinimum of two working days during the week will be required for EPA role.Essential (others)Only UK based candidates will be considered for this role due to requirementsBackground And Experience (desirable)Individual membership of INCOSE UKTo hold, or be working towards an internal quality assurance qualificationKnowledge of prevent & safeguardingSkills & Knowledge (Essential)Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively respond to conflictsFlexibility to understand and respond to the individual needs and circumstances of employers/apprenticesSufficient and relevant technical knowledge of:Health and Safety requirements in the workplaceIndustry structure and processesRelevant legal and regulatory frameworksA range of products and services offered within the industrySystems, tools, equipment, machinery and processes used within relevant rolesIn-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, assessment instruments and recording toolsAbility to assess, free from biasAbility to assess and report risksAbility to meet deadlinesOther RequirementsHave personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required softwareHave a suitable broadband connection, microphone, headphones and a webcamHave a personal and secure email accountHave a postal address in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey Isle of ManHave the right to work in the UKAllow additional time for travel, when making EPA arrangementsApplication InformationWe have a number of opportunities available for teaching professionals to join our growing teams of examiners, moderators and verifiers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
