OverviewStantec is seeking an Engineer to join our Rivers and Coastal Management team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. We can offer the flexibility of a balance between home and office work to support a good work-life balance and effective teamwork.ResponsibilitiesProvide robust and creative advice to clients; work on multi-disciplinary projects, including flood alleviation, flood risk assessment and surface water drainage and SuDS strategies for regeneration, urban expansion and large infrastructure projects.Deliver and review technical work, such as hydrological and hydraulic analysis, flood risk reports, drainage strategies and InfoDrainage calculations.About You / QualificationsBSc, BEng, or MEng degree in civil engineering or a related field, or you can be a qualified water management consultant. Ideally Incorporated or Chartered with a relevant professional body or actively working towards chartership.Experience in surface water and foul water drainage design, design of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and nature-based solutions, drainage network modelling using Microdrainage or InfoDrainage, flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling using tools such as ICM, Flood Modeller, or TUFLOW, Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessment, and geomorphology. Experience in the design of flood protection measures from pre-planning through to construction.Strong report-writing and client-facing skills; ability to work across multiple complex projects; ambitious, forward-thinking and committed to delivering quality design solutions.Why StantecWe are proud of Stantec''s friendly and collaborative culture.
