Everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, visitor, and wider communities.As a Mechanical Engineer you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment for all.ResponsibilitiesSupport the smooth and safe operation of facilities within HMP Springhill as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team.Collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners and Administrators to maintain heating and water systems and related infrastructure.Apply your skills to contribute to rehabilitation and positive change within the prison environment.QualificationsTwo years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalentBe familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirementsExperience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systemsGood working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirementsPlumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalentGood Health & Safety knowledgeExcellent organisational, time management and people skillsBenefits and Work CultureHolidays are 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays, and a range of non-contractual benefits are provided.
