Overview

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery—the stuff dreams are made of. This role sits within WB ITVP UK and its operating companies, supporting post-production facilities across Ricochet TV, Twenty Twenty TV, Wall to Wall TV, and Hanna-Barbera Animation.

Your New Role: Oversee daily technical support and maintenance for two post-production facilities and support and integrate key production applications, services, workflows, and post-production/VFX tools to enhance content creation and brand initiatives. Utilize enterprise creative technologies to optimize efficiency while upholding Warner Bros. Discovery security standards.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Serve as the primary engineering contact, delivering comprehensive support for both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based Production Technology.
  • Provide daily technical support for all production hardware, software, and infrastructure within WBITVPUK’s Post Production facilities across two sites, including managing escalations to vendors, manufacturers, and third-party support partners to ensure timely resolution.
  • Deliver robust infrastructure and workflow assistance.
  • Ensure a high standard of service to all International Creative teams, addressing technical issues promptly and participating in the development of new requirements as needed.
  • Perform regular maintenance on all production servers, workstations, and infrastructure within Post Production.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of workflows and best practices spanning media acquisition, ingest, editing, and archiving.
  • Develop clear, detailed, and professional documentation for systems and comprehensive user guides for internal teams as required.
  • Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies to determine their suitability and potential benefits within existing workflows.
  • Commit to continuous learning and development through on-site and off-site training opportunities.
  • Organize and coordinate demonstrations of new technologies for operational teams as necessary.
  • Contribute to the design, support, and maintenance of Teradici PCoIP & Leostream remote editing platforms.
  • Demonstrate effective self-management and take initiative on assigned projects as designated by department leadership.
  • Manage support and upgrades for shared storage solutions such as Avid Nexis Estate, QNAP Nearline, Synology, and Storage DNA in collaboration with key partners.
  • Liaise closely with local and Corporate IT teams, proactively identifying network/firewall needs and resolving connectivity issues swiftly.
  • Escalate technical problems in a clear and efficient manner to the appropriate internal teams, vendors, or creative departments.
  • Perform essential engineering administration tasks such as asset management, logistics coordination, and maintaining technical diagrams as required.
  • Effectively organize personal workload and retain accurate records where necessary.
  • Support compliance with Information Security and Content Security policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or HND in a technology-related discipline is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in Post Production or Broadcast Engineering roles.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a high-paced production environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in rapid response during technical support incidents, complemented by a systematic approach to preventative maintenance.
  • Logical thinker with strong prioritization skills; adept at issue resolution and escalation when appropriate.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and creative personnel.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Avid-Specific Qualifications: Avid Media Composer ACSR; Avid Pro Tools ACSR; Avid NEXIS ACSR.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technologies integral to Post Production and Broadcast environments: baseband video systems; file-based workflows, standards, and codecs; Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems; audio and video signal flow management; relevant software (NLE, DAW, MAM, etc.); hardware knowledge (high-end workstations, servers, nearline/online storage, LTO, ODA archive systems); cloud systems and SaaS applications; IP networking principles and topologies; remote editing and review platforms and tools.

Onsite Working
