What You'll Do

  • Provide drainage and highway infrastructure design on all types and sizes of new development.
  • Collaborate with project managers across the business to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Develop technical highway and drainage designs to support S104, S38 and S278 applications.
  • Undertake a variety of technical assessments for new developments.
  • Explain technical concepts to others including more junior colleagues and clients.
  • Check technical outputs, drawings and reports produced by junior staff.
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups.
  • Manage projects with moderate supervision ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Provide updates on progress of tasks in line with programmes.
  • Write reports and liaise with Clients / Project Managers on the management and coordination of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in infrastructure engineering and construction.

What We're Looking For

  • Engineer or Senior Engineer with strong AutoCAD and Civils 3D skills.
  • Based in or willing to work in one of the following offices: Woking (preferred), London, Aldershot, Bristol, Leeds, or Christchurch.
  • Organised, capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities with good time management.
  • Self-motivated, able to conduct independent research, and produce high-quality reports.
  • Experience in UK development-related infrastructure engineering (minimum 2 years).
  • Knowledge of design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards and relevant national planning policy.
  • Experience in preparation of highways and drainage design, particularly S38, S278 and S104 processes.
  • Knowledge and application of drainage design from first principles and experience with Microdrainage and/or Causeway flow software.
  • Experience writing flood risk assessments or drainage strategies for development projects.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and committed to developing a career in Civil Engineering.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office; Power BI and Access are a plus; basic skills in AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
  • Full UK driving licence (role may require site visits by car).
