WSP has an opportunity for an experienced Public Health Engineer in our Birmingham Office. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the world within a multi-disciplinary MEP team delivering large, complex buildings across the UK and Europe.

Your role

  • As an experienced public health engineer at Engineer, Senior, Principal, Associate or Associate Director level, you will take a key role in the delivery of a range of our most prestigious projects.
  • You will be a client-facing representative of WSP and take a lead public health engineering delivery role providing innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • You will incorporate sustainability, net zero carbon, digital design, modern methods of construction and smart systems into your design work as part of the wider WSP team.

  • Based in the Birmingham office at The Mailbox, with easy commuting options and local amenities nearby.
  • Our growing Birmingham team consists of 50+ MEP engineers, collaborating on Building Services MEP projects across sectors including advanced manufacturing, healthcare, commercial offices, residential, industry, defence and sports & leisure.
  • The team is supported by local, regional and international experts.
  • WSP supports career development with mentorship and training aligned with your aspirations.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • Working knowledge and experience in UK public health building services design, including relevant standards, codes and regulations at Senior, Principal or Associate level.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and also lead junior engineers towards delivering key projects.
  • Ability to apply technical judgment to feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, as well as construction support phases.
  • Ability to represent WSP to clients while understanding and delivering client needs in engineering solutions.
  • Ability to manage technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
  • Must be able to obtain UK Security Check (SC).
