OverviewEngineer/Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer – Highways/Infrastructure Design. Location is flexible in the North West.We are seeking a full-time Highway/Civil Engineer with a strong drainage design background to support our highways and infrastructure design team in Manchester (location flexible; offices in Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Cumbria). The team works on major and challenging infrastructure projects for private and public sectors, across development sectors, providing integrated solutions with state of the art design.ResponsibilitiesDesign and detailing of infrastructure/drainage works for a wide variety of major projects for private and public sectors. Strengthen delivery capacity with experience in residential infrastructure projects (including SuDS) and essential experience in Civil 3D/Site 3D/PDS and Micro-Drainage. Contribute and take responsibility for a range of project types, manage them independently, and serve as the client’s main point of contact. Lead and manage the delivery of development related highway/drainage schemes (S278/S38/S104/S185) for private developers and infrastructure schemes for local/central government. Projects range from multi-million-pound highway schemes to small residential development schemes. Work independently on technical aspects including preparing designs, specifications, technical approval submissions, and site supervision. Be fully conversant with DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, local authority and industry design standards. Opportunity to collaborate with senior management on larger projects including Quality Assurance and Project Management.About YouYou are an enthusiastic Engineer who likes a challenge.Educated to degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering and eligible for CEng CIHT/MICE.Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time.Strong experience and knowledge of infrastructure engineering projects especially drainage and general building drainage works; demonstrate detailed design skills for Section 278/Section 38 & Section 102/104 works, including specifications, calculations and technical reports. Knowledge of current and emerging technology and legislation.Technical knowledge extends to AutoCAD, Civils 3D/Site 3D/PDS and competence in Micro-Drainage.Experience of working with Statutory Authorities and procedures.Experience in commercial management of projects and change control.Commitment to health and safety practices within the workplace and design.Team player with enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility.Ability to mentor, encourage and support team members.Desire to build upon existing experience and continue professional development with Tetra Tech.Hold a full UK Driving Licence.About Tetra TechTetra Tech is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide.
