Role: Engineer Surveyor - Lift & Crane. This is an exciting home-based opportunity for an experienced engineer with a good knowledge of the Lift and Crane discipline to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world. You will assess a wide range of installations, including lifts located in the IFSC in Dublin or lifting equipment in a pharmaceutical company in Ireland. You will anticipate our client's needs and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
You will work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team, managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader. You will prepare examination reports after inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients. This role involves hands-on inspections of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant. The role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in hot or cold conditions.
Salary Information Pay: Starting circa €61,623 per year. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only part of the total reward package.
Location Dublin, Leinster – Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections and assessments of lifts, cranes, and related equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare examination reports following inspections using electronic reporting for timely delivery to clients.
- Travel within the local allocated work area as required.
- Coordinate with the Engineer Surveyor Team and Senior Operations Team Leader.
- Document processing and general administration in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Up to date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules relating to the Lift and Crane discipline.
- Decision-making ability and willingness to take responsibility.
- Strong planning skills for short, medium, and long-term activities.
- Full, valid Irish/EU/UK driving licence.
- Time management and independent work planning abilities.
- Comfort with using tablets and smartphones as part of the working day.
Essential Skills
- Minimum qualification in Mechanical Engineering at level 4 (UK) or level 6 (Ireland) (e.g., HND/HNC/Full Technological Certificate) or working towards it.
- Hands-on experience with lifts, cranes, and materials handling equipment in manufacturing, repair, or maintenance roles.
- Strong customer interaction, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage weekly workload.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable Skills
- Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
