Job Description

Role: Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Repair Engineer, Airframe Wing (Weekend Shift)

Team: Part of a dynamic, multi-skilled team delivering structural repairs and repair processes to support the Airbus fleet from A300 to A350. You will work with design and static analysis engineers to assess and validate repairs to damaged wing structures, ensuring adherence to airworthiness regulations and manufacturing guidelines. This role is part of a weekend 35-hour shift (Friday – Sunday) with a shift premium; further details are provided on application.

What you will be doing

  • Perform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) assessment of repairs to damage reported by Operators and MROs, collaborating with design and static stress engineers to deliver optimum repair designs.
  • Create, compile and coordinate documentation required for approval of the repair design to release the aircraft back into service.
  • Develop methods and processes for repair analysis, working with method experts to enhance the analysis capability of the repairs teams.

  • You are a skilled aerospace F&DT engineer.
  • You work well in a team to develop effective solutions to complex technical problems.
  • You organize and monitor tasks to ensure timely, cost-effective and quality outcomes.
  • You collaborate with other teams and external parties to ensure efficient delivery of tasks.

Essential Skills, Qualifications And Experience

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience of F&DT analysis of structures using hand and computer methods.
  • Understanding of fundamental F&DT analysis methods and ability to apply them.
  • Ability to liaise with Design, Stress, Customer Services and suppliers.
  • Excellent computer skills and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of technical requirements for repair analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Airbus structures and F&DT Tools (including ISAMI).
  • Logical problem solving.
