We're working with a high-tech industrial automation specialist delivering cutting-edge robotic and electromechanical systems to clients across aerospace, manufacturing, and advanced engineering sectors. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a Field Commissioning Engineer to join their Service & Support team. \nThis hands-on role is perfect for someone with strong electrical, PLC, and diagnostic experience who enjoys travel, solving real-world problems, and providing first-class technical support to clients across the UK and beyond.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCommission and support bespoke robotic and automation systems at customer sites\n\nDiagnose and resolve electrical, PLC, and software faults in the field\n\nPerform on-site modifications, upgrades, and servicing of automation equipment\n\nCollaborate with software, workshop, and systems teams to resolve technical issues\n\nDeliver excellent customer service and ensure client systems operate at peak performance\n\nDocument and report technical issues, fixes, and progress throughout project lifecycle\n\nProvide emergency breakdown and reactive support when required\n\nSupport internal system testing and development during quieter service periods\n\nEssential Skills & Experience:\n\nStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skills (electrical and software)\n\nOperational experience with industrial robots (e.g.
KUKA, FANUC)\n\nPLC experience with Beckhoff, Siemens, or similar (IEC (phone number removed): LAD, ST, FB, SFC)\n\nFamiliar with industrial fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, ProfiNET, CANopen, RS232)\n\nExperience with automation, robotics, or industrial systems\n\nAble to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings\n\nConfident communicator in technical English - written and verbal\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nWilling to travel extensively across the UK and occasionally abroad\n\nEligible for DBS/security clearance\n\nDesirable:\n\nHNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent\n\nElectrical apprenticeship or demonstrable hands-on electrical experience\n\nFamiliarity with safety systems in automation environments\n\nExperience supporting commissioning processes from installation through to handover\n\nWhat's on Offer:\n\nCompetitive salary up to £48,000 depending on experience\n\nRegular travel with expenses and overnight allowances\n\nExcellent training and exposure to cutting-edge technology\n\nSupportive team environment with flexible working when not on-site\n\nLong-term progression within a growing robotics and automation business\nReady to play a key role in delivering world-class robotic systems to global clients?\n Apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion
