Position Overview:

Join our industry-leading field service department at Finning! As part of our in-frame team, you'll be at the forefront of diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products, working on CAT engines, generators, and components across various sectors.

Main Job Functions:

As a Finning Engineer, you will:

• Respond to customer field repair and service requests, providing detailed diagnostics and solutions.
• Estimate arrival times based on job instructions and customer location.
• Communicate with site management to register your arrival and adhere to site procedures.
• Diagnose equipment problems using specialized tools and collaborate with customer operators.
• Identify required parts for repairs and manage requisitioning and delivery timelines.
• Perform repair and service work on a variety of Caterpillar engines and generators.

Education and Experience:

• Valid LDV driving license.
• Formally trained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) with significant experience as a service engineer or equivalent.
• Experience with a variety of gas and diesel engines, including generators (both LV and HV).

Knowledge:

• Proficiency in field-based diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Experience with assembly and disassembly of diesel engines and components.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar large engines (e.g., 3400, 3500, 3600 series) and MWM, MAK series.
