Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Engineer position with openings in:

• Leeds
• Cannock
• Cardiff
• Glasgow

Your Role

As a Finning Engineer, you will:

• Respond to customer field repair and service requests, providing detailed diagnostics and solutions.
• Estimate arrival times based on job instructions and customer needs.
• Communicate effectively with site management to ensure adherence to customer procedures.
• Diagnose equipment issues using specialized tools and collaborate with customer operators.
• Identify required parts for repairs and manage requisitions efficiently.
• Perform repairs and service work on a variety of Caterpillar engines and generators.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A valid LDV driving license.
• Formal training (NVQ Level 3 preferred) and significant experience as a service engineer.
• Hands-on experience with gas and diesel engines, including both LV and HV generators.
• Knowledge of field-based diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Experience with assembly and disassembly of diesel engines, particularly Caterpillar large engines (e.g., 3400, 3500, 3600 series).
