We’re looking for a Field Sales Engineer to cover Scotland, ideally based in or near to central Scotland.

The job is about more than selling, it’s about understanding our tools and engineered solutions, showing clients and prospective clients how they’ll solve problems, and building lasting relationships. You’ll be working across a range of industries, including Oil & Gas, Rail, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Utilities, Distilleries, Construction and Manufacturing.

Your week will be four days on the road and one day working from home, and once a month you’ll join the team at our Rotherham headquarters. Plus, when you first start with us you’ll get a full week of hands-on training in Rotherham to give you a solid grounding in product knowledge and relevant engineering applications.

What you’ll be doing:

• Promoting our tools, engineered solutions, and hire tool fleet across Scotland.
• Presenting and demonstrating products on-site with clients and prospective clients.
• Working with our in-house design and engineering teams to put together the right proposals.
• Developing existing accounts and finding new opportunities through calls, site visits, and industry contacts.
• Negotiating and closing deals to hit your targets.
• Reporting weekly on your pipeline, forecasts, and activity to the Sales Manager.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• A working knowledge of engineering, (with hydraulics, pneumatics or electrics being particularly useful).
• Confidence presenting and explaining technical kit.
• A straightforward, professional approach to negotiation and customer service.
• The drive to work independently across a territory, as well as part of a wider team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous sales experience with industrial or capital equipment.
• Understanding of sectors such as Oil & Gas, Rail, Manufacturing, Power Generation, Construction, Utilities or other heavy industry.
