Field Service Engineer (Bristol/Gloucester)

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of both customer-owned and COMPANY-owned equipment. This role is primarily based at a large distribution site. You’ll be expected to build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues while completing all required administrative and operational tasks with efficiency and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
On a daily basis, you will:
Carry out repairs and maintenance using the correct tools, techniques, and safety procedures.
Operate and test vehicles and machinery for diagnostic purposes.
Use standard computer applications, internet tools, and manufacturer service portals effectively.
Conduct diagnostics and repairs on forklift trucks and other machinery both onsite and in the field.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturer products and systems.
Complete service reports and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Follow all company and site-specific health and safety regulations.
Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Use company tools and vehicles responsibly and appropriately at all times.Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
Preferably previous experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Prior experience working in an engineering or technical service role.
Electrical experience (desirable but not essential).
A full and valid UK driving licence.
Proficient IT skills and the ability to use diagnostic tools/software.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
A self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team on large customer sites.
Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends when required
