Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Heavy Plant)\n Location: Reading, Northamptonshire\n Salary: £38,000–£42,000 base salary + paid door to door (OTE £45,000–£50,000+) \n Hours: Monday–Friday 07:00–16:00 (flexible hours) + Company Vehicle/Fuel Card + Overtime @ 1.5x\n Job Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nThe Client:\n Interaction Technical is proud to be working in partnership with a global leader in the manufacture of specialist vehicles and equipment for road sweeping, gritting, and airport runway clearance. With a strong reputation for innovation and reliability due expanding its UK engineering team and is seeking experienced Mobile Plant Engineers to join their growing operation.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that offers full training, career progression, and a supportive team environment.\n\nThe Package:\n\nDoor to door paid with all travel time and expenses paid for\n32 days annual leave (including bank holidays)\nEmployer pension contribution at 4%\nCall out rota from October to March (1 in 4/5 weeks on call) - £145 call out allowance + additional £125 per Bank Holiday on call\nOccasional overnight stays required with accommodation and food paid for (£25 per night) + occasional trips abroad\nLife Assurance and Health Care Scheme\nCompany van, fuel card, mobile phone, and laptop provided\nSalary Sacrifice Scheme for an additional 5 days annual leave\nFull training and development with clear progression routes\n\nThe Responsibilities:\n\nAttend customer sites to carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on specialist plant and municipal equipment\nIdentify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently\nPerform routine maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability\nProvide technical advice and support to customers on equipment usage and upkeep\nMaintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed\nLiaise with the internal engineering team to share insights and improve service delivery\n\nThe Requirements:\n\nBackground in Plant, HGV, Automotive, or Agricultural engineering (essential)\nStrong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems\nExperience working with engines and fault-finding tools is advantageous\nRecognised engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds) are desirable\nFull UK Driving Licence is essential\nHGV licence or willingness to obtain one (training support available)\nSelf-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently in the field\n\nInteraction Recruitment have specialist consultants across the majority of industries within the UK, including but not limited to, Finance & IT, Technical & Engineering, Industrial, Commercial and Hospitality.
