Overview

Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technician role at TieTalent. We are seeking a candidate with a sound mechanical and electrical maintenance background, with experience in a mobile role visiting commercial sites to carry out servicing, repairs and general maintenance on a range of equipment, including waste compactors and balers.

Full product training is provided, and previous experience in fixing, repairing and maintaining machinery, plant equipment or similar is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical services such as repairs, preventative maintenance, site surveys, training, installations and courtesy visits
  • Fault find and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Train Customer staff in the safe operation of waste balers and compactors
  • Ensure equipment is safely installed, maintained and repaired to high standards in accordance with company guidelines
  • Provide detailed and accurate estimates for breakdown and remedial repairs
  • Communicate with site staff to ensure expectations are met and issues resolved to customers’ satisfaction

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Service Technician / Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer / Field Technician / M&E Engineer / Equipment Engineer / Plant Maintenance Engineer / Plant Fitter or similar
  • GCSE level education (including Maths and English) / City and Guilds
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting / diagnostic / fault finding skills
  • Ability to work independently, stay calm under pressure and adopt an organized, methodical approach
  • Professional with good analytical and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
  • Full driving licence essential
  • Previous welding experience desirable

Job Details

  • Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum + Van (with Fuel Card) + Tools + Mobile + Laptop + PPE + Full Product and HSE Training
  • Location: Based from home, covering South East England (mobile role, daily visits to client sites)
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Paid from Door to Door)
  • Work/Life Balance: Weekend/overnight work is rare; overtime paid if required
