Field Service Engineer – Scientific Benchtop Equipment\nTerritory: North East UK to Northampton\nSalary: Up to £40K plus monthly commission (approx. £1.5K per year)\nHours of Work: Mon-Thurs 9-5.30 and Friday 9-1 (subject to change on 6 monthly basis) Travelling throughout Mon-Thurs with some nights away.\nTaylorollinson are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to work for a leading provider of analytical instruments who provide solutions geared toward chemical, life science, environmental and manufacturing laboratories in both research and industrial settings.\nThis opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer working with previous experience supporting complex scientific benchtop equipment, who’d like to work as the main technical resource for the company’s product range, providing remote and onsite customer support across the UK.\nRole Responsibilities\n * Collaborate with customers and colleagues during the site planning process prior to installation.\n * Inspect, install, configure, test, and ensure systems and accessories meet specifications at customer sites.\n * Deliver basic operator training to customers following installation.\n * Perform both breakdown repairs and planned preventative maintenance at customer locations.\n * Provide technical support and fault-finding assistance to customers and colleagues.\n * Conduct system validation procedures to meet certifiable standards.\n * Travel frequently to customer sites throughout the UK\n * Support the Sales team by running samples, preparing timely reports for customers, and assisting with method development.\n * Work independently and remain effective under pressure while troubleshooting complex issues.\n * Prepare clear and professional technical reports for delivery to customers within agreed timeframes.\nCandidate Requirements\n * Minimum qualification: HNC/HND Level 4 (or equivalent).\n * Practical experience working in a laboratory environment.\n * Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n * Highly focused, self-motivated, and a strong team player.\n * Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across the UK
