Service Engineer

Salary/Rate: £38,000 – £40,000/annum + OTE £55,000 – £60,000

Location: Manchester (field-based role, covering UK-wide)

Job Type: Permanent

Shift Times: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 (30 mins unpaid lunch), Friday 08:00 – 12:00. Total 38 hours per week (4 day working week an option)

Service Engineer – Machine Tools

Engineering @ 365 is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK machine tool supplier and service provider. Due to growth and increased demand in the North West region, we are seeking experienced Service Engineers to join their specialist team, delivering installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance support to an extensive machine portfolio of milling, turning and grinding machines as well as 3rd party customer equipment.

Job Description

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNC milling and turning machines (including large bed machines), with occasional work on grinders and machine installations. You will be customer-facing, working independently and as part of a team, ensuring a professional and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and commission machine tools and 3rd party equipment.
• Attend customer sites, diagnose issues, and deliver timely resolutions.
• Undertake planned maintenance activities.
• Order and manage required spare parts via Service/Spares department.
• Provide technical support to colleagues and clients.
• Lead and support installation projects.
• Produce clear written service reports.
• Promote a safe working environment, adhering to HSE standards.
• Build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in machine tool service engineering.
• Strong knowledge of CNC control systems (Heidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens).
• Background in servicing milling and turning machines.
• Experience with large machine tools desirable.
• Based in the Manchester / Stockport area (to support regional service demand).
• Strong customer focus, with ability to work independently and within a team.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Package & Benefits

• Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (paid monthly),
• OTE: £55,000 – £60,000 with overtime.
