Field Service Engineer – Reading / Basingstoke / Andover area

Salary: £40k basic + car / allowance + call out rota up to £7500 + exceptional benefits

Our globally renowned and respected client has been established for 60 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and support of bespoke in vitro diagnostic solutions for supply throughout the world.

They are seeking an experienced and self-motivated multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their professional team and provide the highest levels of technical customer service and satisfaction in the Installation, Service, Repair and Technical Support of a range of automated laboratory equipment used in clinical and industrial markets in the Reading region of the UK.

Once trained on the portfolio of solutions, the successful Field Service Engineer will undertake a range of Installation, Planned Preventative Service, Reactive Repair and Technical Support activities in various customer-facing environments including hospitals, laboratories and blue chip FMCG clients. You will manage vehicle stock inventory efficiently and within guidelines, and ensure activities are completed on time and to the highest levels of accuracy with supporting documentation submitted in accordance with engineering and service department requirements.

In addition to initial in-house training, you will attend training courses as required to gain or maintain knowledge levels and ensure customers receive the highest levels of service and support. You will also stay informed on industry developments to keep up to date with advancements in technology.

Other duties may include assisting with project work to meet deadlines and providing customer on-call support as part of the Service Team rota. You will understand and ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and applicable industry regulations (including Health & Safety at Work) and ensure that SSOW on site is followed.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, Planned Preventative Service, Reactive Repair and Technical Support of automated laboratory equipment (clinical and industrial markets).
  • Manage your vehicle stock inventory and ensure documentation is completed and submitted as required.
  • Participate in customer on-call support as part of the Service Team rota.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies and regulations on-site.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Qualified to at least ONC level or above in a relevant Electrical / Electronic Engineering discipline.
  • 3 or more years' experience in a comparable service or maintenance environment; laboratory or medical equipment experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills at all levels.
