They’re looking for a mechanically minded Field Service Engineer to join their team.\n\n Your time will be split between:\n\nField service work – attending sites across London and the South East to install, service, and repair high-security systems (gates, barriers, blockers, turnstiles).\n\nWorkshop fitting – supporting the Crawley workshop when field work is quieter, carrying out mechanical and electrical fitting/assembly tasks.Electrical knowledge isn’t essential, but if you can use a multi-meter to check voltages on motors or similar equipment, that’s a strong advantage.\nPlease note: random drug and alcohol tests may be carried out on certain client sites.\n\n Why join?\n£35,000 base salary\n\nOvertime at 1.3x after 40 hours (weekdays)\n\nUncapped overtime and weekend work available\n\nOn-call rota with generous allowance (1-in-5)\n\n22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 after 2 years)\n\nCompany van (business use only), tools, PPE, phone and uniform provided\n\nLong-term progression with training on electrical/control systems once the core role is mastered\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\nInstalling, servicing and repairing gates, barriers, blockers, and turnstiles\n\nAttending breakdowns and fault-finding/diagnostics\n\nCutting induction loops into concrete/tarmac (training provided)\n\nUsing mechanical skills daily – hands-on repairs and maintenance\n\nCompleting electronic job sheets on tablet/smartphone\n\nTravelling across London and the South East (occasional overnight stays)\n\nProviding excellent customer service on-site\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nStrong mechanical background (essential), ideally from one of the following:\n\nAgricultural machinery maintenance\n\nConveyor systems or material handling equipment\n\nPlant fitting or heavy equipment repairs\n\nShift fitting in a factory\n\nSite-based equipment such as wheel washes\n\nBasic electrical knowledge (advantageous) – motors, multi-meters, 24v/240v systems\n\nFull UK driving licence (clean )\n\nPhysically fit and comfortable with outdoor/manual work (including confined spaces)\n\nWilling to travel, stay away occasionally, and take part in an on-call rota\n\nAble to pass a safety-critical medical and face-fit test (must be clean-shaven for P3 mask use)\n\nBritish passport and no criminal convictions (security clearance required)\n\nIf you’re a hands-on engineer with a solid mechanical background looking for a field role with variety, apply today
