We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in engine rebuilds to join our growing team. Specialising in the overhaul, rebuild, and maintenance of CHP systems, gas engines, and diesel engines, this role is vital in ensuring the ongoing reliability and performance of critical energy systems across various sites.\n\nThis energy company are an established OEM and specialist provider of a green energy supply to their customers.
To help provide low carbon solutions for their infrastructure. With a huge client portfolio this is a brilliant chance to join a leading manufacture within the power sector. Your work at client locations & the main depot, performing detailed diagnostics, major overhauls, and full engine rebuilds, often on large industrial and commercial power units.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarry out complete engine rebuilds on-site and in the workshop on gas and diesel engines (primarily CHP units).\nDiagnose and rectify mechanical faults with internal combustion engines (IC engines).\nStrip, inspect, and rebuild engines including cylinder heads, pistons, liners, crankshafts, and camshafts.\nConduct site surveys and risk assessments prior to job commencement.\nCollaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure work is completed to high standards.\nComplete service reports, parts usage records, and customer documentation accurately.\nSupport commissioning and decommissioning activities as required.Requirements\n\nProven experience in engine rebuilds, particularly with gas and diesel-powered CHP units.\nApprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, etc.).\nStrong mechanical knowledge of major engine brands (e.g., MAN, Jenbacher, Cummins, Perkins, CAT).\nFull UK driving licence (essential).\nAbility to work independently and travel regularly to client sites.\nExcellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.Desirable\n\nOEM training on gas engines or CHP systems.\nFamiliarity with generator control systems and associated electrical knowledge.\nExperience working in power , utilities, or energy sector.What's on Offer\n\nCompetitive base salary with generous overtime rates.\nCompany vehicle, tools, and PPE provided.\nEnhanced pension scheme and private healthcare.\nOngoing training and professional development.\nCareer progression opportunities within a growing business.Keywords; rebuilds, overhauls, rebuild, field service engineer, CHP, generators, gas engine, gas engines, diesel engines, gas turbines, power , comAp, Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Power , Gas Engine, diesel engines, generators, CHP, Renewable Energy, MTU, MWM, CAT, Jenbacher, Rolls Royce, Low Carbon, Mechanical Engineer, Marine, Marine Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Energy from waste, INDUK
