Following continued growth and new contract wins, we are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team, covering customers throughout the Midlands and South West region.
This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers with experience in packaging machinery, automation, or related equipment to join a forward-thinking business that values technical expertise, reliability, and customer service.
The Role
As a Packaging Machinery Service Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers’ production equipment remains reliable, efficient, and fully operational. You will carry out planned and reactive service work on a variety of packaging systems, providing on-site support and excellent customer care.
Key Responsibilities:

Service, maintenance, and fault-finding on:
*
Automated packaging machinery
*
Conveying and handling systems
*
PLC-driven equipment
*
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and attend reactive callouts.
*
Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
*
Maintain accurate service records via our service management system.
*
Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
*
Liaise with clients professionally, providing recommendations and technical support.
*
Participate in the on-call rota (as required).
About You
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in field service engineering within packaging, automation, or similar machinery.
*
Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical systems (experience with PLCs advantageous).
*
Proven ability to fault-find under pressure and deliver timely solutions.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Strong communication and customer service skills.
*
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
