Field Service Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Field Service Engineer to join a growing team. This role involves nationwide travel to carry out installations, site surveys, technical support, and maintenance for networking equipment, cabling, and associated infrastructure. You will work both independently and as part of specialist teams, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking site surveys, installing network servers, Wi-Fi hardware, and cabling at client premises, data centres, and telephone exchanges across the UK. You will also provide on-site support, troubleshoot faults, and deliver technical remote hands assistance when required. Work will include preparing sites for installation, performing upgrades, patching and re-cabling equipment, and ensuring that connectivity is fully tested and operational. You will participate in an on-call rota to provide 24/7 nationwide support and may be required to work occasional night shifts to assist with out-of-hours migrations or maintenance. Your duties will also extend to data centre access and management, including following strict security protocols, maintaining professional standards on-site, and ensuring all environments remain safe and well-presented. What Were Looking For
We are looking for a well-organised, self-motivated engineer with a strong customer focus and the ability to work calmly under pressure. You should be confident working at height, using hand tools, and travelling extensively, sometimes staying away overnight. Strong communication skills and a full UK driving licence are essential. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a similar field service or technical role
Installation and maintenance of networking hardware and structured cabling
Ability to carry out Wi-Fi and 4G coverage surveys
Troubleshooting network and hardware issues
Familiarity with copper and fibre cabling practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Data centre experience
Strong understanding of networking principles
Previous experience in customer-facing field engineering
