Role Overview:
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on client assets within depots, including rail-related systems and equipment. The role involves proactive and reactive work, adherence to safety protocols, and providing excellent customer service on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs on client assets.
* Follow instructions from the Manager or Operations Supervisor for work tasks.
* Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and site procedures.
* Complete job sheets, PPM forms, and site reports daily, ensuring they are signed by the client and submitted within the working day.
* Act as the first point of contact with clients during site visits.
* Book on and off-site according to client procedures.
* Wear appropriate PPE at all times during duty.
* Maintain and report on the condition of company vehicles and equipment.
* Report accidents, incidents, or hazards immediately to supervisors.
* Maintain a functional mobile phone and ensure communication is effective.
* Work additional hours in emergency situations, following risk assessments.
* Attend engineering and safety meetings as required.
* Lead and mentor junior staff and assist in training.
* Be "on-call" as per the rota.
* Stay overnight when necessary, with accommodation arranged as per business needs.
Qualifications & Competencies:
* Minimum of 2 years' engineering experience, rail experience or equivalent.
* Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
* Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate within three months of employment.
* Knowledge of CWM, CET, fuelling systems, and depot equipment.
* Competent in the correct use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
* Basic IT skills for reporting and communication.
* Practical engineering skills with supervisory or leadership capabilities.
* Ability to follow method statements, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
* Proactive approach to work practices and safety.
Additional Requirements:
* Possession of the appropriate tools and equipment.
* Ability to work efficiently and economically alongside colleagues.
* Maintain a professional standard in PPE and vehicle condition.
* Ability to sign off work sheets and assist with training junior engineers.
* Willingness to stay overnight as required by the business
