Fire & Security Engineer – Somerset Area

Our client is growing and they’re seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join their Service & Maintenance team to support a new contract with Somerset Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a flexible, well-supported team in a role that balances independence, technical challenge, and professional development.

The Role

As a Fire & Security Engineer, you'll carry out:

* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

* Reactive callouts (including 24/7 on-call rota – approx. 1 in 5 weeks)

* Work on fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and remote signalling systems

* Support a diverse portfolio across commercial, public sector, and third-sector clients

You’ll be mentored initially by an experienced local engineer and supported by our Cardiff-based head office team.

Candidates Should Have:

* Experience with addressable and conventional fire alarms systems (CCTV/access control also desirable)

* Full UK driving licence

* A proactive, professional, and honest approach

* Able to work independently and use your initiative

* Willingness to complete an advanced DBS
