Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Fire Damper Technician to join our team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and compliance of fire and smoke dampers within a portfolio of commercial properties. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining fire safety systems, adhering to relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 9999, BS 7671 for electrical aspects) and industry best practices. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, fire safety regulations, and excellent diagnostic and repair skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing: Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire and smoke dampers in accordance with relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 9999) and manufacturer guidelines. Visually inspect dampers for damage, corrosion, proper sealing, and accessibility. Functionally test dampers, including drop testing and confirming full closure. Verify correct operation of associated actuators, linkages, and controls. Maintenance and Repair: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire and smoke dampers. Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs, including replacing faulty components (e.g., actuators, fusible links, springs).
