We are seeking a self-motivated and conscientious Fire Engineer to join our Fire Engineering and Consultations Team (FECT). This team are responsible for advising on the adequacy of fire safety measures in a wide range of new-build and renovation projects across Hampshire & Isle of Wight, as well as assisting our Protection Delivery teams in undertaking fire safety audits in complex premises.
As a Fire Engineer you will:
- Take the lead on behalf of the Fire Authority in relation to fire engineering projects within Hampshire and IOW to ensure building designs meet the requirements of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Ensure building regulation consultations are completed within statutory timeframes
- Provide support and guidance to operational, enforcement, investigations and fire safety colleagues on built environment and technical matters
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain high professional standards of practice
- Maintain your own personal and professional development
- Facilitate the sharing of relevant information with other areas of the organisation

The ideal candidate will have completed a Master’s Degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety Engineering (or equivalent), and hold Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer registration with the UK Engineering Council.
However, this post is also open to those currently enrolled on a recognised academic Fire Engineering course leading to a BEng degree and holding at least a Level 5 qualification in Fire Engineering from a recognised University or awarding body.
If successful, candidates will be eligible for full on-the-job training.
