Fire & Security Systems Service Engineer

Field Based - Covering Central London

Full Time - Up to £55,000 expected earnings

Global Fire and Security Systems is an independent company established in Nottingham since 1999. We have developed into market leaders in providing quality product solutions throughout the fire and security marketplace nationwide. We are seeking to appoint a Fire System Service Engineer - Electrical, to be field based to cover Central London.

Job Purpose:

  • To undertake all electrical works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate.
  • To ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and operate equipment and services in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment and record inspection reports.
  • Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
  • Maintain working knowledge of statutory regulations and safety procedures.
  • Undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate.
  • Report defects at the time of service visit and carry out works specified.
  • Be responsible for vehicle and stock control of materials.
  • Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
  • Understand and comply with company policies and procedures; perform work safely and diligently.
  • Attend and participate in training and appraisal activities; undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any deficiencies in systems or equipment that may affect service delivery, health and safety, or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and PPE correctly as trained.
  • Report issues or training needs to the Field Line manager or incident reporting system.

About You

  • City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • IEE 18th Edition Regulations.
  • Experience in electrical fire life safety works within the services sector.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
  • Strong customer care focus; proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights up to 25kg.
  • Ability to meet deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication; customer focused with good organisational skills.
