This is an important role supporting our distribution teams.
With a fleet of over 1000 assets, Warburtons continues to invest heavily in our vehicle fleet, including Zero Emission Vehicles already on the road, with further investments planned. We are an Earned Recognition operator and pride ourselves on achieving the highest standards of compliance and safety. Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Carry out technical investigations into PG9s, MOT failures, or Major Incidents. Manage accident repair and vehicle write-offs.
- Support fleet development by improving vehicle standards, maintenance, procurement, and managing the integration of new vehicles and retirement of old ones.
- Manage service providers through regular review meetings, annual compliance audits, and sourcing new providers.
- Coordinate with Warburtons sites to ensure timely and consistent fleet management.
- Set maintenance budgets and develop realistic financial plans.
- Ensure fleet compliance with legislation and DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme requirements.
- Audit operational compliance and service providers.
- Apply structured vehicle engineering skills; membership of MIRTE is preferred.
- Hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage – Level 3 (essential).
- Manage large fleet maintenance operations across multiple sites.
- Understand DVSA and operator licence legislation thoroughly.
- Communicate effectively and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Proactively identify and resolve problems, especially related to fleet operations.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Support management during major incidents involving DVSA or emergency services.
