They are searching for a driven, experienced Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside a growing team of professionals, near the conveniently-located, cultural town of Crawley.

  • Responsibilities for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer include:

  • Contributing to a diverse range of projects, including residential and commercial developments, sports venues and stadiums, school buildings, rail and infrastructure, and more, across the public and private sectors
  • Complete technical work in the mitigation of flood risk, including Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Estimation Reports
  • Design Drainage Strategies and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Utilise a range of software packages to produce technical work and designs, including MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar
  • Required skills and experience for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer include:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering or Hydrology (or similar, relevant discipline)
  • Prior experience of working in a UK consultancy setting, specifically in a design-based role
  • Demonstrable experience of completing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design
  • Demonstrable competencies in Hydraulic Modelling
  • Experience in designing a range of infrastructure projects
  • Highly proficient in the use of MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and other relevant software packages
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Desirable skills and experience for the role of Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer include:

  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Based in the South-East of England, with knowledge of the local area
  • Excellent time management skills
