Overview

As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will help drive the growth of Speechmatics by working directly with customers and partners across industries to demonstrate, integrate, customise, and deploy our Voice AI at speed. You’ll be responsible for implementing our Voice AI in demos, Proof of Concepts, and in full-scale customer environments. This is a hands-on engineering role that involves working side-by-side with end-users and our engineering team to deliver measurable value in days or weeks.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop rapid prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and pilots to validate customer solutions.
• Build demonstrations of our Voice AI that showcase capabilities to large communities of developers and innovators.
• Design, build, and deploy custom integrations of Speechmatics’ APIs into diverse customer and partner environments.
• Offer technical expertise to maximise the likelihood of closing a sales opportunity.
• Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimise deployments for accuracy, scalability, and performance.
• Educate customers on installation, support, and operation of deployments.

Who We Are Looking For

• Exceptional software development knowledge with API integration expertise. Strong Python coding skills and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to distil complex concepts into compelling solutions.
• Experience with languages such as TypeScript, SvelteKit, and React; full-stack capability to transform ideas into tangible demonstrations.
• A genuine interest in Voice AI, user experience design, and conversational interfaces; ability to enhance SDKs and push the boundaries of voice technology.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to filling gaps in incomplete requirements to deliver high-impact results for clients.
