Founding Engineer / Technical Lead

Location: Hybrid (London HQ + Remote role with occasional travel) MUST BE UK BASED

G.Digital are thrilled and excited to be working with this ambitious, early-stage tech company on a mission to reinvent how people experience personal training and wellbeing. They already have a proven desktop platform in-market, and are ready to take things to the next level — launching a consumer app, scaling the technology, and building a product that truly changes lives.

We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join these guys and be part of a unique opportunity to combine hands-on coding with strategic vision, shaping the technical direction and building the engineering team from day one.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship: Take ownership of the end-to-end engineering process, from coding and architecture to deployment and monitoring.
• Scale the product: Deliver a mobile app to complement the desktop platform, ensuring both scale smoothly as we grow.
• Grow the team: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
• Define the roadmap: Work alongside the founders to shape product strategy and long-term technical vision.
• Own the stack: Make technology decisions that balance speed, scalability, and security.
• Champion innovation: Stay across emerging tools and approaches, ensuring we always stay ahead of the curve.

About You

• Experienced full-stack engineer, confident in delivering complex mobile or web applications.
• Strong background in modern frameworks, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and scalable architecture.
• Comfortable as both an individual contributor and team builder, you love coding but also know how to grow a tech function.
• Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset, excited to shape the direction of a high-growth business.
• Previous start-up or founding experience a bonus, but not required, what matters is your ambition and drive.
