Job Description:

As a full-stack software engineer, you will be responsible for building a cloud detection and response product that helps customers to identify and resolve cyber-attacks in cloud environments.

You will own the prototyping and development of new and innovative ideas to further improve Darktrace’s services and offerings, balancing creativity, logical thinking, and time constraints to implement novel features.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and technical strategists to create cutting-edge projects and optimize solutions to improve both speed and scale.

This role involves working with a wide range of infrastructures, languages, and technologies.

Our tech stack includes:

• Frontend: Typescript, React, NextJS, TailwindCSS, Cypress, Jest
• Backend: Python, ElasticSearch, Postgres, Redis, AWS/Azure/GCP, Cloudformation & Terraform, K8s, EKS

This is a hybrid role, with a mandatory attendance of 2 days a week in the London office.

What experience do I need:

We welcome applications from engineers with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, as well as excellent communication and the ability to work collaboratively. You should be an independent thinker with a startup mindset.

Technologically, you should have full-stack experience building and shipping reliable software, with experience in React or Python. You don’t need to be an expert, but an understanding of fundamentals is expected in the interview. Cyber-security or cloud-specific experience is not required but is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and frontend interfaces using Python and React, along with related tech stacks.
• Collaborate closely with product teams and other engineers to deliver high-quality features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning to ensure best practices and high code quality.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and systems.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, and proactively suggest improvements or innovations.
• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure security best practices are followed throughout development and deployment.
