We’re seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Functional Safety Engineer / Project Manager to lead and facilitate ISO 26262-compliant safety activities across the Electrical Engineering department of a luxury vehicle manufacturer.

Whats on Offer:

Attractive hourly rate (outside IR35)

End date: 23/12/2026

37 hours per week

Hybrid - 2-3 days on site per week

International travel to suppliers every 3-6 months

About the Role:

As the Functional Safety Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind the implementation and oversight of Functional Safety processes throughout the engineering lifecycle—from concept to end-of-life. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our vehicle systems meet the highest safety standards, using the thwe company's Functional Safety process.

Who We’re Looking For:

You may already be in a Functional Safety role or looking to pivot from a technical conformity or engineering position. Either way, you’re process-driven, a confident communicator, and thrive in complex, multi-disciplinary environments. You’re ready to take ownership of safety-critical projects and deliver results under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure vehicle functions are developed in line with ISO 26262 across all lifecycle phases
• Support Function Owners in assessing technical impacts of changes to systems and components
• Lead internal and external safety reviews (e.g., HARA, DIA)
• Act as the technical point of contact for Functional Safety within EE
• Conduct verification reviews to ensure ISO 26262 compliance
