Insight Global is seeking a Golang Engineer for one of their premier financial services clients in the UK. This person will be part of large-scale modernization project to design, build, and scale an enterprise payments platform. He or she will be part of an agile application engineering team focused on back-end micro-service architecture and programming into modern Golang. This role offers a hybrid working model with up to 2/days a week work from home.

Applicants must have the following:

• Professional development experience - Java ideally
• Professional Golang experience
• Experience in application design, software development, and testing, in an Agile environment
• Experience working with Git on small to medium sized teams
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Couchbase, or Cassandra
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs for high volume clients
• Strong analytical, problem-solving/quantitative skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or 5 years of professional experience

It would be beneficial if the candidate had the below:

• Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GHA)
• Experience with open-source frameworks is a plus – especially maintaining or contributing to open source projects
• Experience with container and container orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with automated build and test frameworks
• Experience with Atlassian software development and collaboration tools (JIRA,
• Confluence, etc.)
• Knowledge of payments industry
• Experience with coding skills across a variety of distributed technologies
• Experience with a broad range of software languages and payments technologies
