What you’ll get
Our Graduate Development Programme is a structured two-year scheme designed to support your development at the start of your Jacobs career journey. Through a combination of blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking, you will establish yourself as knowledgeable and competent across four key focus areas: human skills, consulting skills, champion our strategy and your passions. The GDP is a client-facing, on-the-job learning experience that allows you to customise your learning journey to reflect your interests, career goals and technical skillset.
The opportunity
Jacobs is a market leader in the transportation sector, working with major clients like National Highways, Transport for Scotland, Manchester Airport Group, Heathrow Ltd, HS2 Ltd and the Welsh Government. You will have opportunities to support on delivering Jacobs’ exciting and challenging global pursuits, with on-the-job training and exposure to various stages of schemes from initial concept through to construction. You will assist and support colleagues in the preparation of feasibility studies, scheme reports, and highway designs as part of your development toward becoming a professionally qualified engineer. You will join the Highways & Civils team in our London office. The start date for this position is September 2026.
What you’ll need
- Be working towards a Masters level qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering with Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with AI or Civil Engineering with Data.
- A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward
- Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
