Please apply as soon as possible as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.Your RoleWe are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer for our Infrastructure team to be based in Taunton, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your civil engineering expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment.The OpportunityYou will be part of an experienced civils team in Taunton, working within a wider team in the South-West where you will work across a number of development and infrastructure projects. Your development will include using design software and your own engineering ingenuity to plan and coordinate drainage, utility and road designs.You will work within an engineering team liaising with clients, co-professionals and other disciplines within the office and across our business. You will gain experience of all project stages and knowledge through site visits and high contact time with your team, to become a capable civil engineer in your own right.The Civils team are a group of passionate, talented and welcoming individuals with extensive expertise. The team are based in the office full time, presenting a unique advantage, as you will always have support on hand.Assisting with technical input into a variety of projects, your duties could include:Getting involved in the development of concept, preliminary and detailed scheme designs.Preparing drawing packages, design reports, specifications and technical notes.Completing engineering design work and calculations, this could include preparing 3D design models of our projects, designing and evaluating drainage networks or designing minor structures.Researching the latest technologies and construction techniques and playing a key role in minimising the environmental impact of our projects.Assisting in the management of Health and Safety risks and taking steps to proactively manage and mitigate potential issues.Preparing cost estimates and assisting our clients to value engineer the best solutions within given time, cost and environmental constraints.Developing an understanding of the various stakeholders involved in infrastructure design and management by collaborating with professionals from other organisations and disciplines.Managing and conducting on-site surveys and assessments for your designs.Preparing carbon emission calculations and workbooks to document carbon outputs of projects.About YouAt Stantec, we value your potential over past experience.
