Overview United Utilities is responsible for water and wastewater services in the North West of England. The Role You will enrol on a three-year graduate programme registering on our Institution of Civil Engineers Approved Training Programme. You will have dedicated support toward achieving an Engineering Council approved professional qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). You will have opportunities to undertake placements across disciplines such as process, mechanical, electrical, construction and network modelling to grow your knowledge and expertise. What will I be doing?
Developing knowledge of civil, hydraulic, geotechnical and structural design, including site layouts, foundation solutions, pipelines and structural arrangements for water, wastewater and bioresource treatment processes. Gaining experience in data gathering and analysis for engineering design, and developing knowledge of health and safety techniques and the regulatory environment. Improving ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences and to write clear, concise engineering design specifications with measurable outputs. Experience across capital projects in areas from regulation and project development to conceptual design and construction.
What do I need to be successful?
Minimum 2:1 Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Technically competent with good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong written and interpersonal skills and excellent communication at all levels. Excellent teamwork abilities. A full UK Driving Licence when the scheme commences.
