Graduate DevOps Engineer

New Today

Overview

Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a completely new, end-to-end management system for mortgages. Our platform cuts out unnecessary admin, pain and friction from buying a home. We’re covering the entire journey, from figuring out what you can borrow, to getting your keys, guided by the voice of real home buyers and by our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers. Over the past year, mortgage submissions through our platform have grown by 200%, and we are continuing to grow to transform the industry and the future of home buying.

The role: We are looking for a Graduate DevOps Engineer that wants to help ensure our platform for homebuying is always available and secure. You will work closely with the broader team to keep CI pipelines smooth and efficient, ensure the production environment is performant, stable and secure, and maintain a high degree of insight and transparency into our operational environment. Your approach should be that no task is done twice.

What you’ll be doing

  • Implement and test non-functional aspects of the platform such as security, performance and scaling to deliver the product to users, keep it secure and understand its real-world performance.
  • Involve yourself in the full software development life cycle; quickly switch between tasks and collaborate with frontend and backend teams to deliver software while meeting quality and security benchmarks.

Who you will be

  • Passionate about software engineering and delivering a quality product.
  • Curious about new and evolving technologies; enjoys tinkering with systems and networks.
  • Awareness of technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes & Terraform.
  • Awareness of information security principles, particularly environment hardening.
  • Understanding of monitoring and logging for security, operational and application performance management.
  • Understanding of CI.
  • Preferably knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language.

What we offer

  • A chance to make an impact within a high growth Fintech start-up
  • Monthly team social events
  • One week of free accommodation for those relocating
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Opportunity to earn equity through our EMI option scheme
  • Company laptop and supporting tech
  • Private healthcare and a cash plan
  • Pension contribution matched by Acre up to 4%
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Breakfast, snacks and drinks provided in our Shoreditch office

We’re looking for people that will get stuck in and make a difference. We have a great collaborative, entrepreneurial team that are passionate about what we do. If you want to join a team tackling a big problem space, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re eager to receive applications from all backgrounds, including from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
