Overview

Cambridge Consultants is looking for STEM graduates to join as Graduate Electronics & Software Engineer (2025 start). You will work to create real products for clients and tackle challenging engineering problems in areas such as robotics, AI at the edge, embedded systems, and defence/national security projects including pioneering AI cyberattack response for the UK military.

Your responsibilities

With support from peers, you will work as part of a technical team on client assignments in multi-disciplinary projects across a wide range of markets. You may work on one or more projects at a time, in various disciplines and roles. You will design and implement systems for a broad set of applications and products, developing skills in analogue and digital hardware, information engineering, embedded software, control, communications and product design. This could include writing software in C for embedded targets, SystemVerilog for FPGAs, PCB design and hardware testing. You will have the chance to interact directly with clients at all project phases, from requirements capture to final handover.

About you

We are looking for applicants with the following experience or skills:

  • An excellent degree or PhD in electrical, electronic or information engineering, computer science or physics.
  • Experience from university, work or home projects in at least one of the following areas, with enthusiasm to learn others:
  • Software implementation in C, C++, Rust, or a similar language
  • PCB design
  • Digital electronics (processors, memory, DSP, Verilog, VHDL)
  • Analog electronics (general, interfaces, RF, power)

Some projects at Cambridge Consultants are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to obtain Security Check level security clearance. You must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to undertake UK National Security Vetting as required.
