Graduate Geotechnical Engineer – Ayesa - UK and Ireland

Employment Type: Full-Time (with hybrid work arrangements)

Ayesa is seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Geotechnical team. You will contribute to a variety of design projects. Previous design commissions include renewal schemes for railway earthwork assets, temporary works designs for flood defence schemes and detailed geotechnical design input for a major new conference centre building in Wales.

Responsibilities

  • Working as a member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
  • Ensure all geotechnical designs are in accordance with set standards and that recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable
  • Ensure that designs are delivered on time to clients and that the design fulfils the client’s brief
  • Inspect construction work and ensure that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
  • Monitor processes and results to ensure compliance with safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions and exercise initiative
  • Assist at tender stage of projects

What You Bring

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s design experience in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with proven technical knowledge of geotechnics and relevant software
  • Detailed knowledge of Eurocodes and current engineering codes of practice
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work independently

Skills & Attributes:

  • A first degree (minimum 2.1) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or similar
  • Masters degree in geotechnical engineering or similar is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year’s Geotechnical or Civil Engineering design experience
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status
