Opportunity and role overview
Jacobs is a market leader in the transportation sector, working with major clients including National Highways, Transport for Scotland, Manchester Airport Group, Heathrow Ltd, HS2 Ltd and the Welsh Government. You will be involved in on-the-job training with the latest software tools and will work on a mix of projects from concept through to construction. You will assist and support colleagues in the preparation of feasibility studies, scheme reports, and production of detailed designs to support the enhancement and renewal of intelligent transport systems on public and private sector projects across the UK & Ireland. As a new graduate within the Highways Technology team, you will contribute to the ongoing growth of Jacobs on local and national highways schemes.
The start date for this role is September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support colleagues in the preparation of feasibility studies, scheme reports, and production of detailed designs to support intelligent transport systems.
- Contribute to project work from concept stage through construction on both public and private sector projects.
- Collaborate with the team to learn and apply latest software tools and industry practices.
What you'll need
- Be working towards a Degree or Masters level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward.
- Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
- You must have permanent right to work in the UK.
