Polytec is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative engineering company near Saffron Walden. This full-time, entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates passionate about mechanical design, product development and continuous improvement. You will receive structured training and mentorship with exposure to cutting-edge engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in designing mechanical components using CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks)

* Support prototype development, testing, and validation

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines

* Prepare technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, specifications)

* Contribute to continuous improvement and troubleshooting activities

* Stay updated on industry standards and technologies

Requirements:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

* Proficient in 3D CAD software (ideally Creo & SolidWorks)

* Hands-on experience in workshop or assembly environments is a plus

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Willingness to work in regulated sectors and undergo security clearance

Desirable Skills:

* Familiarity with FEA/CFD simulation tools

* Understanding of GD&T, DFM/DFA principles

* Basic programming/scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
